 Prerequisites: Must be 16 years old and pass a water test
                        given the first night of class.

           (includes books, available at the YWCA at the first class)

Many adult fitness classes are very flexible. Classes such as Water Aerobics, Pilates, Circuit Weight Training and Seniors in Motion you can start at any time.

For three adult classes - Belly Dancing, Tap Dancing and Hatha Yoga - you will want to start at or near the beginning of a session so the class can learn the moves together.

National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) Workshops

Group Exercise Certification
Saturday, Jan 23 2010 8:00am - 5:00pm

Potential and current fitness instructors will learn basic academic and practical application of teaching group exercise. No college, science, or teaching background required. Workshop registration includes a full-day review, written exam, 2 year certificate and membership.

Our new 5-hour CEC Workshop includes practical information and written choreography to take back to your classes! Learn about specific issues that aging participants may encounter, including medical considerations, othopedic concerns, and the normal effects of aging and how these issues relate to exercise and health. (Credits: 5 NETA, .5 ACE, 4.5 AFAA)

Cost:
$99 to reregister or $109 to register onsite.

Personal Trainers will assist with setting fitness goals and will help you develop an effective plan to achieve those goals. The personal trainer will show you correct and safe body techniques to help you gain the maximum benefit from your workout.

Lifeguard Recertification Training

 Renew your Red Cross lifeguard certification during this challenging program. Review safety skills and rescue techniques.

 Prerequisites: Must have current certification to take this
                        challenging class
