
Volunteers - The contributions of volunteers at
the YWCA range from making cookies to making policy, from holding babies to
holding fundraising dinners. Every service that the YWCA provides is greatly
enhanced by the contribution of time, skills, and TLC from volunteers.

Serve on the YWCA Board of Directors and Board Committees that include: Finance, Development, Personnel & Mission
Health Promotion Services (HPS)
Help weekly with sports activities and crafts for Girls in Motion (grade 6)
Help younger children in swimming lessons
Spring cleaning help for the Body Shop
Volunteer for special events
Facility Upkeep
Solicit furniture needs
Help with indoor/outdoor projects (flower beds, room painting, carpentry)
Office Administrative Area
Web site development and updates
Database consultation (expertise in MS Access helpful)
Public Relations
Assist with mailings
Provide print design
Develop bulletin boards/displays
Operate video camera, digital camera
Help weekly with ECHOES after school program - Volunteers needed for games, cooking, jewelry making, newspaper writing and medical careers. Or, volunteer just one day to teach your special skill like golfing, crocheting, acting, rock hunting, anything!
Y's Kids - Before/after school children's programs at Waterloo/Cedar Falls schools. Weekly help and one-time help needed.
Summer Daze Day Camp - (Planned program for K - 5th children.) Teach a special skill for one day or longer; sponsor a picnic for the group.
Quality Time - (family education/recreation program) needs volunteers to help with child participants or serve a meal and clean-up on Monday evenings.
Food!
Volunteers are always needed to contribute or prepare cookies, snacks, or even meals for many special events and programs.
Adult Programs
GED (General Equivalency Diploma) needs tutors to work with students
Latino Moms need English/Spanish speakers
Residence members need mentors
Family Center
Volunteers always needed to rock babies!
Young Women on the Move Conference - plan, organize, help
Help with teen parents group on Monday
Transportation
Volunteer drivers needed for several program areas
