A parent education and support group for individuals ages 20 to 26. Meet other young parents in similar situations, learn more about educational and employment opportunities for adults, and develop strategies for self-sufficiency and positive parenting. Earn participation "points" to purchase items in the incentive store and Stork's Nest. No preregistration required. A meal and child care are provided.

Latinos Moving Forward
The YWCA, along with several community partners, has again joined ISU Extension and Outreach to offer the Juntos program. This is a series of 5 workshops that brings together parents, students, schools and the community to promote higher education for Latino(a) students. The students and families will work with professionals who will help them explore options for higher education and how to navigate through the college application process.
The program will be held in September at the YWCA. A meal will be included during that time at no cost to families. For more information and/or to register, please contact Umaru Balde at the YWCA (319-234-7589).
La YWCA, con otros socios en la comunidad, se ha juntado otra vez con ISU Extension and Outreach para ofrecer el programa “Juntos.” Este es una serie de 4 talleres que junta a los padres, estudiantes, escuelas, y la comunidad para promocionar la educación superior para estudiantes Latinos. Los estudiantes y familias trabajarán con profesionales que les puede ayudar a explorar opciones para la educación superior y cómo navigar a través del proceso de aplicar.

Young Women on the Move

This annual interactive event is held each spring and provides a day of fun and information for middle-school aged girls. Activities designed to explore areas such as self-image, career, decision making and fitness will be offered.
Watch for announcements at your school or check with your school counselor.
Young Women on the Move is free for participants but preregistration is required.
